Why do we say Whole in the Wall Pesto is "the best in the universe"?
Simply put, Whole in the Wall Pesto Sauces are made with the finest ingredients that money can buy.
Our traditional pesto is made with fresh basil, parmesan cheese, pine nuts (NOT walnuts or other substitutes), fresh garlic, and imported Italian olive oil. We go heavy on the FRESH herbs and add a hint of creamery butter to this already premium mix of ingredients to "kick it up a notch".
There are NO fillers or artificial ingredients in our products. PERIOD!
All of our Pesto sauces are crafted with the same high standards as our traditional Basil Pesto. We take pride in going to such lengths to make our pesto sauces because we love food and we believe in only serving what we would serve to our own moms.
Commercial brands of pesto sauce are most often short on fresh herbs and long on dried herbs, inferior fillers and oils. Good pesto simply cannot be dried or bottled. Cooking pesto, which is needed for bottled goods, destroys the flavor of fresh basil and other fresh herbs and creates an inferior product. All of our pestos' are quickly frozen after being made, preserving the flavor of the fresh herbs.
Our pesto products are available nationwide. We can also ship them to your door packed in dry ice, fresh frozen from the day that they were made! They're made by hand at our terrific restaurant of the same name in Binghamton, New York - a local favorite that attracts everyone from stockbrokers to students in Birkenstocks.

History
Once upon a time there were few people at Whole in the Wall Restaurant who knew much about pesto other than it was an occasional gourmet dish prepared by one of our zany chefs in the summer months. However, people liked our pesto dishes so much they began to demand that we sell it to them straight up in little containers. A friend of ours who owns a health food store liked it so much he decided to offer it for sale there. The public's appetite for Whole in the Wall pesto became so insatiable that we were living, eating, & breathing pesto.
The same zany chef who began this avalanche found that he wasn't content with just making traditional pesto. So with a true pioneer spirit he created and brought new pesto flavors to the market, 7 in all!
The variety of flavors we offer allows for a multitude of original uses for pesto: dips, omelet's, spreads, lasagnas, grilled with fresh fish or chicken.....the culinary possibilities are endless.
